Birthday @Garlic!

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted that much. I've been enjoying my vacation so much that I had to do more stuff for work. Anyway, i'll probably update this blog every now and then but not as much as before because I actually don't have much to share. Must be writer's block or something.

However, if you wanna check out my other blog which I wanna focus more on. It's not gonna be always about Shanghai, but more about stuff i like.

Okay anyway back to this post, I celebrated my 32nd bday last April-teen and spent it with friends. Me and Joyce went to Flying Elephant coz I just love Russian food. Then this picture is on another night at Garlic somewhere near Hengshan road I think. Anyway, will post details later.
I super love it here coz the food tastes amazing and it has a nice ambiance. Thank you to my friends May and Mario for the treat! I'd post more pictures probably on my other blog. You know I havent even had the time to learn how to set the settings for my Canon S110 lol. Most of the time it's just on automatic and I just saw that some of my pictures were blurred.

So how was your May 1 holiday?

F4 in 2013 Spring Festival

I was so excited when my friend told me that F4 did a song for Jiangsu Channel's 2013 Spring Festival Show. It's so nice for them to sing together after all these years. I think I have been a fan since their show Meteor Garden aired somewhere in 2003 back home. They still look great, as if they haven't aged at all. Anyway, here's the clip of the show. Enjoy!

Celine Dion Sings in Mandarin for CNY

Is there anything Celine can't sing?!!! This is actually amazing and refreshing to see which is a grand show telecast during New Year's Eve. I just love the melody and Celine nailed it. She also sang her famous song My Heart Will Go On. I got to say, the effects are just spectacular and her voice is still phenomenal.

Happy Chinese New Year!!!

For years, I spent CNY locked up in my flat or spending it with my friend's family. This year, I thought, I'd spend it outside so that I don't have to endure the loud noise from the firecrackers at midnight.

I'm so glad it snowed the morning before the New Year.

And I didn't exactly give myself a gift for Christmas so I thought of having that gift for this CNY eve instead. Thank you Media Markt for having a huge sale. It's a Canon S110. I've been wishing for this camera since it was just Canon S95.

Then my friend and I had dinner at Xintiandi. The area has fireworks but you can see/hear it from afar, not in-your-face-loud. I have no idea what the dishes are called, I just know we didn't eat pork.

Then we spent a few hours before the eve inside a bar with a live band.

When we went home around 2am, it's pretty quiet down my block. I'd do this again next year.

Xin nian kuai le!

Goodbye Media Markt

What is up with that location in Huai Hai Middle Road? First, it was Barbie Flagship Store, and now Media Markt. I love that shop so much! I have gazillion things on my wishlist that I even haven't bought yet. It's great coz they have all the gadgets on one huge place and the labels are in English and the staff are bilingual.

Today, we were lucky to have passed by but I guess we're a bit late too coz most of the racks are empty. A lot of the items are tagged from 20% to 50% off. Plus if you buy the last item on the display rack, you get it at a fraction of the price.

You still have time to shop till tomorrow coz I heard they're leaving before the new year. I hope they have a similar shop like this in the future.

JS Wings CNY

How cool are these pair?! Designed by Jeremy Scott, these shoes are called JS Wings CNY. He's seen here wearing the shoes together with Superstar Eason Chan.

Dinner

Last night I met up with a friend and her friends. She's actually very sweet to invite me when I'm the only one there who couldn't speak Chinese. I really feel embarrassed that it makes me wanna review before dinner lol. But they are nice anyway and the food is amazing plus there's a special opera show that I haven't seen before which I heard is popular in Sichuan. The actors dance around and in a matter of seconds they switch face masks on the spot. Even if I just watched their face the whole time, I really couldn't tell where their masks come from. It's pretty amazing! Will post the details of this restaurant this week. :)

Here's a clip of the show from my Keek. If you browse this from your laptop, you don't need to install the keek app.
